OUR STORY

Anand Meals was born out of a personal experience. Our younger brother Anand Balachandran was first diagnosed with brain cancer in 2010. He underwent surgery, radiation and chemo and was declared cancer free. Then 8 years later, the cancer returned and he was admitted to the hospital for two weeks.

In that painful time, we felt how meaningful it was to have the overwhelming support and love of friends. Words cannot express how much their kindness, especially in our time of need, meant to us. After the passing of our brother, the generosity we experienced led us to start this mission of extending kindness and love through food.

OUR WORK

Free Meal Distribution

Each week, we provide refreshments to patients admitted in hospitals in India. Meals are also being distributed to about 1,100 people on the Nagpur streets, every month. We hope to expand this program to Kolkata soon.

Free Cancer Screening

In collaboration with the Sant Tukdoji Cancer Hospital, we plan to host monthly cancer screenings beginning in Fall 2021 in the villages of Maharashtra and Amritsar. We hope to help in early detection and treatment for identified patients.

Grocery & Life Support Kits

During the pandemic, we helped distribute several hundred grocery kits in many parts in India. This January, we are helping transport sewing machines and other sanitary kits to a women's shelter run by

the government.

Water Cooler Installation

At the Rashtra Sant Tukdoji Regional Cancer Hospital & Research Centre in Nagpur, India, we were able to install a brand new water cooler. This added an additional level of support that we were able to offer to the patients.

GET INVOLVED

We are always on the lookout for more people to share our vision and mission with.
